Length Of Stay At Sober Living

At Steps to Peace and Purpose the average stay of our clients coming from in-patient treatment is 6 months. Our goal as a 12 step facility is to guide our clients through our phase system to where they integrate the steps into their lives and relationships at home and at work.

The length of time someone should stay in a sober living environment can vary depending on individual circumstances and needs. Sober living homes are designed to provide a supportive and structured living environment for individuals in recovery from substance abuse or addiction.

While there is no set duration for how long someone should stay in sober living, it is generally recommended to stay for a minimum of 90 days. This timeframe allows individuals to establish a solid foundation in their recovery, develop healthy habits, and gain the necessary skills to transition back into independent living successfully.

However, it is important to note that the length of stay can be influenced by various factors, including the severity of addiction, individual progress in recovery, personal circumstances, and recommendations from treatment professionals. Some individuals may choose to stay in sober living for an extended period to further strengthen their recovery and ensure a smooth transition back into society.

Ultimately, the decision of how long to stay in sober living should be made in consultation with addiction treatment professionals, counselors, and support networks who can provide guidance based on individual needs and progress in recovery.
